I’ve always been drawn to design- imagining and creating spaces. As a child, my passion manifested itself in Lego houses, diorama shoeboxes, house floor plans, and hand drawn maps of my neighborhood.
Today my passion of design manifests itself in my studies of landscape architecture- a form of design that incorporates an organic palate, the landscape itself. And like the landscape, landscape architecture comes in a range of scales. From park design, to community planning, to regional planning, I find myself engaged at multiple levels.
Through my studies I have come to see design as more than just a passion, but as a tool. Design can change communities, it can improve lives. It can empower people to take ownership of space and make the most of it. I believe in design that makes the world a better place.
Upon graduating with a bachelor’s of landscape architecture in May 2013, I hope to find my place in the professional world of design, creating spaces and finding a balance between people and their environment.
